Many homeowners and business owners often don’t want to be going up on ladders, never mind going up ladders with 2 armfuls of paint cans and tools! This, along with the fact that a lot of exterior home painting and commercial jobs are usually large surface areas and are often high up from the ground, makes them time consuming, and dangerous to the unskilled. Painting is what we do! You have a lot of other things to worry about in your daily life. Let us save the day!
For your exterior painting needs, give us a call or fill out the quote form, and we’ll arrange a time to meet with you to discuss your vision for your property. We’ll then afterward provide a written proposal on how we will bring your vision to reality. By utilizing a top quality primer that is appropriately suited for the surface, and top quality top-coat paints, we guarantee our workmanship for 2 years, and typical 2 coat jobs we often see last 6-8+ years on vertical surfaces.
We stand by our workmanship, using the mid tier and upper tier paints from Benjamin Moore, Dulux, and Sherwin-Williams.

The Typical Preparation Process for Exterior Home Painting
On outside jobs, the process typically looks as follows:
- For dirty areas, we wash as required, using soapy water, TSP and bleach. For large dirty surfaces, we do powerwashing. Paint doesn’t stick well to dirt so we want a clean surface for paint to adhere to.
- Next, scrape the loose and peeling paint. This is one of the biggest reasons we need to see jobs in person, to be able to estimate how much of the surface needs scraping and priming.
- Fill minor holes and cracks with filler. Sand after drying.
- Spot prime bare and repaired areas. Full prime areas that have never been painted before, or areas requiring a drastic colour change, or special adhesion or stain blocking.
- Paint top coats as further detailed in the quote.
- Canvas drop sheets used to protect all areas NOT to be painted. This includes walkways, plants and bushes that can’t be easily moved.
Weather Considerations for Outside Painting
Generally we ask you for a range of dates of when is acceptable to you to do your project. This allows us to schedule everybody’s requested dates as close as possible to your requested date, while also working around the weather to produce top quality paint jobs. Here are some factors we have to dance around with scheduling:
Low overnight temperatures. We don’t want paint that hasn’t cured yet to freeze and then crack. Special low temperature paints will allow us to extend our Ontario exterior painting to as early as April, and as late as November, with allowable overnight temperatures as low as 4 degrees.
High daytime temperatures. Over 30 degrees and direct sun makes for multiple challenges. Not only for the painter applying the paint, but also to make the final job look right. For starters, the paint dries too fast. It flows noticeably a lot thicker and sluggishly. It begins to dry or “skin over” in the paint cans and in the paint trays and on the brush and roller, leading to chunks in the paint being applied, and we can also run into a negative effect called flashing. Flashing is where the paint is applied without keeping a uniform wet edge to blend all the applied paint and the result is uneven sheen when looking down the length of a wall. Additional problems are made worse when attempting to paint METAL in hot conditions. You get bubbling, and poor adhesion. Paint needs a gradual dry time.
High humidity. This is something that can REALLY prolong drying times. When we plan to crank out certain areas in ‘X’ amount of time and be circling back for a 2nd coat but the paint is still wet, it might not be possible to paint a second coat if the paint is still wet. High humidity also makes spray painting outside more dangerous to overspray as paint spray will float a lot farther in a cool, humid, overcast day which means the wet spray paint can land on undesired surfaces QUITE far away from where intended.
Impending Rain. If your paint isn’t dry to the touch and heavy rain comes, your paint will become streaky and will look bad. This is a stronger concern with oil paints which can take 12-16 hours to dry to the touch versus latex paints which are often dry to the touch in 1-2 hours.
We’ve seen a lot, and overcome a lot. From barn ceilings, covered in hundreds of dead flies, to basement play rooms with dozens of holes, we’re in this, to help you beautify your home or business, the way you want it, on a timeline you need, and on a budget that works with you. If you also need pressure washing services, or even grinding down a rusty business sign and freshening it up, we got you!
