3 Reasons That Your Inside Space Is In Need of House Painting:

One common reason, is simply the desire to change the colour and feel of a space.  A purely aesthetic reason.  Maybe you want to go super bold in a space now!  Take the bathroom picture on the right as an example.  A client wanted 2 tones of blue, and still accents of black.  The colour scheme matched the chosen black shower tile very well.  And the neutral of black shower tile would allow this bathroom in the future to be other colours as well and still match well.

Or, maybe you want light and airy colours and your furniture and room accessories will become your accent colours.  In any case, you want either a different feel of a room, or you want to decorate a space differently.

Make sure to experiment with our partner’s Visualizer Tool, by clicking HERE.

The tool allows you to upload your own photo, and apply your colour choices directly onto your picture, to see how your space COULD look!  Choose the Paint A Photo option.

Second reason, the space could be newly built.  New walls in a garage or basement, or new construction.  Even newly installed wood trim will need some paint to seal in the dust, provide protection and look sharp.

When considering hiring us for the interior painting of a newly built area around your home or business, we need a few things done before we are ready to do our magic.  We need the framing to be done, we also want any required electrical and plumbing that is to run through the wall(s) to be done.  Lastly, the newly installed drywall should be taped and mudded multiple coats and sanded smooth like the picture shown.  This is the normal outcome when a drywall installer is done the drywalling stage.  When your new area looks like this picture, all the mudded areas should have a smooth feeling transition to the drywall board.  There should be no ridges.  This is when these walls are ready for painting, and where we come in with drywall sealer and finishing paints.

The third reason for home or commercial painting is to remedy issues such as loose and peeling paint.  Loose and peeling paint is a less frequent problem indoors but is most often observed in wet rooms, places of repeated moisture exposure along with inadequate ventilation over time.  The picture below shows a bathroom with inadequate venting, and the green circles show some black mold has appeared, as well as cracking and peeling paint.

For the longest lasting paint job in wet areas, the ideal solution is having active venting of damp air by an exhaust fan with a timer on the wall switch.  It’s important to ensure that the exhaust fan is functioning correctly and that the piping is connected to vent outside.  This may require peeking into and/or crawling into an attic space.  To prevent peeling paint, proper ventilation of damp air from shower use is essential- either by opening the window after each use, or more ideally, using an exhaust fan in wet areas.

Similarly, basements with damp floors or walls in contact with framing lumber and drywall can slowly lead to mold and peeling paint if not properly addressed.  While we can help with various solutions such as bleach to kill mold, or replacing sections of water-damaged or moldy drywall, and applying stain-blocking primers, addressing the root cause is critical for a long lasting paint job.  Our services extend beyond wall repainting to include comprehensive drywall repair, revitalizing and beautifying your home or business.  For a painter company that does it all, you can also go back to our home page.
